A suspended ceiling hangs from a grid below the structural slab, giving easy access to wiring, ducting and pipework above it, common in offices. A plaster or gypsum board ceiling is fixed directly to a frame for a seamless finish, more common in homes and retail. Most projects use a mix of both.
